It has been a long day, so I’m not going to race report this other than to say that Nick Tandy won in the simply wicked looking new Porsche 911 RSR GT. Awesome machine. I’m not sure whether to be impressed that the Effort Racing machines are sponsored by GOD or dismayed. Let’s face it, you need money to race, so it might as well come from reporters of a fictitious supreme being, right?
Anyway, the story of the race came from further back in the field. Mark Wilkins morning started by reading a tweet from our buddies at Race Canada, saying that his pole sitting car had been DQ’d in post race tech and he would start at the back of the field. Wilkin’s charge from the back of the grid to 4th spot in the GTS class was nothing short of inspiring. This guy is an animal, flying over curbs and passing drivers every lap.
Enough words – check out some of the incredible cars in the field!
