As regular readers know, Gary Faules has become quite close with Hershel McGriff these days and we are all pretty excited to follow this 81 year old legend as he plans to race in Nascar’s Camping World West Series race at Infineon today.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the nice post on Hershel at Infineon. He’s doing well and very excited to be a part of the racing scene again! I’ve linked your blog on his site…hope you don’t mind. He’s heading to Portland to race there mid July. Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by. How did today go?
Well…considering it is a brand new car put together hours prior to practice, and that a major component (carb I think) had to be swapped out before qualifying, I’d say the ole’ boy did pretty darn good! If you glance at his blog, you’ll get the idea. He’s gearing up now for Portland (his home track), so…exciting times ahead. He sure has loads and loads of loyal fans and friends sending best wishes and good luck! Go Hershel!
