With all the emotion following Sunday’s tragedy at Mosport, an important awakening that happened the same day has been somewhat neglected. Our 9 year old discovered how cool it can be when you combine cars and cameras.
Armed with my crappy old digicam, Duncan worked his way through the paddock on a mission. When the internal memory was full, he was more than happy to take over my FZ-8. As you can see, The Dude has an eye for details and gets the basics of framing a shot. All last night and then again this evening he kept asking when I was going to get him a real camera so he can take more car pictures.
The sport we all love has kindled another flame, while another was extinguished.

Your son has good taste in taking a picture of Doug’s Kiki. I had a bit of a talk with Doug on Sat. and we laughed about the time at the 67 Can Am race where we apparently had the crowd on their feet as we went side by side through 8, 9 and 10. We both have copies of a picture of us in 10. We trusted each other not to do anything stupid and as Doug said we probably weren’t going all that fast. It was fun especially as I got in front of him eventually. I had the inside on 8 and 10.
Wow… Duncan has got it goin on! A great eye AND taste! He’s the complete package. Even if he does like Vettes.

I have to say, me being of the design persuasion, that Duncan has a keen eye for things graphic … could there be an(other) artist in the family?
These are great shots … even if he does like Vettes.
Leighton, that sounds like it was great fun. I’d love to post those pics if you can scan them. Either that or I can scan them if we meet up one day.
As for the Vette….wait till you guys hear the story behind this car!
Lots of great shots! Thanks for sharing,
dc
Duncan is very talented taking nice pics of my MGB GT, he can take over from Bob Harrington when he retires.
Thanks for your comments. And there weren’t any mustang’s as cool as lucky.(I’m all over the mustang’s)
I had a feeling you were a man of distinction. Keep up the great job.
Duncan has a great eye for photo composition. I enjoyed viewing his photos and am honored that he included the fender art on my Elva Courier (”Slow Dance Racing”) in this portfolio. Hope I see him at Mosport next year!
