With the recent and ongoing total revamp of the auto industry, we are very soon going to see new Fiat models for sale once again on North American shores. Fortunately for us gearheads, that also means Abarth is also coming to our continent once again. I’ve been aware of the cool that is Abarth since I was a wee lad in the early Seventies, so it amazes me how many of my gearhead friends have no clue what Abarth is. For you older folks, think Alpina in relation to BMW. The youngsters may relate better to Mugen and Honda. Abarth is a tuning company that has worked alongside the Italian automaker since the Fifties building some incredible machinery. From the diminutive Fiat 500 to Can-Am style road racers and mighty Fiat Abarth 131 rally cars, Carlos Abarth’s team built a legend.
The folks at Abarth today know they have some ground to cover here in North America making sure that enthusiasts understand the heritage behind the upcoming Abarth 500 version of Fiat’s new baby. They are about to launch a series of documentary videos to expose the masses to the magic of the scorpion. We are proud to have been asked to help spread the word and have the first video trailer after the break.
This video has been shot in widescreen, so be sure to hit the full screen button to get the full effect. Keep your eyes on The Garage for the first full episode.
They need to hire a video editor…
Video editor?
Considering it’s just a teaser I thought it was awesome.
It was rubbish.
Teaser should excite. Editing should be crisp and flawless.
This feels like it was slapped together.
A.
Hum… I thought it was rather fun. Not sure what the complaint was all about? I think they are following the MINI with some fun ads and rather liked it.
Got to sit in a 500/ABARTH on a recent trip to Holland at an Italian Faire. Pretty damn kool. It was much nicer, built wise, than expected.
I like the rough and grungy feel to it. It makes me feel all tingly in my naughty bits!
I think Andre is just jealous because the stuff he gets to work with are boring things like tanks and guys jumping out of airplanes and stuff 🙂
Come to think of it, you could have lots of fun with the new recruits when you edit those paratrooper training videos!
Gosh Gary… didn’t see it quite that way…”I like the rough and grungy feel to it. It makes me feel all tingly in my naughty bits!”
I’m sure glad to see someone else respond to that comment. I had to contain myself when I first read it but then I took a look at a video he produced and then realized surely he was just kidding. He had to be… right???
As for the video of the Abrath… anytime a video gives a woody it’s a good one.
