Video: Mosport Camping in 1976

One thing about racing in the Seventies is that the spectators had a blast. Combine booze, weed and thousands of young people and you had a sort of automotive Sodom & Gomorrah. In many cases, camping was shut down at tracks because of the denizens of “The Pit” going wild.

The folks in this video posted on youtube by Cribben shows the infield at Mosport in 1976. These folks were of the well behaved sort. Check out all the Beetles! Unfortunately, the bit of on track footage we see is a bit to grainy to tell if this was the Formula 500 weekend or the Canadian Grand Prix.
