The kind folks at Go Fast Energy Drink have put together a quick, short video of Gary, Jon & Lucky from La Carrera. This is a nice little teaser of what’s to come.
One observation. In Mexico, the crowds are happy to pass a cold beer to teams as they reach the end of a stage. While we don’t get that in Ontario, I will say that there is absolutely nothing like having a course worker put a pair of ice cold cans (of anything) through the passenger window at the end of a stage!

I have to say it sure looks like Lucky is going slow in that video but trust me, it’s far from slow and if we were slow we never would have finished where we did. Just wait until the DVD is ready and I am sure it will give a much better feeling for how fast we were moving even much better than the qualification stage that was already posted.
As for the cold beers… The in-car camera was not on until we were ready to leave as we waited for the last and final stage to begin but just prior a black and white Federally pulled up to Rusty Ward’s Studebaker which is painted like a Federally police car not to mention an annual favorite in this race and the door opened and a Federally got out holding two ice cold beers and handed them to Rusty and his navigator just before we were to run a high speed stage. ONLY in Mexico. How cool was that!
Right after that final stage we were asked to give the fans a show as we raced thru the streets and the crowds to the final city square and Rusty and I were tearing it up as we drifted thru the street corners and then we were performing major burnouts as the crowd went nuts. And THAT is on video!
