It’s been a busy weekend here in The Garage, so there’s been no time for posting. Watch tomorrow evening when we take the cover off all the pics and stories from the VARAC Festival at Mosport this weekend. Oh yes, please pass the aloe vera. We need to deal with the nuclear Mosport sunburns!

WOW! What a great weekend. We just got home (~1100 miles) tonight about 630pm. I spent the weekend working as crew for 2 cars. For both drivers it was their first time on this track, and both had an absolutely wonderful time.
I’ve been to alot of tracks in N. America, and the staff and crew working this event were some of the best I’ve ever seen. No BS, no drama, no controversy. The pit out (”Mock Grid”) crew in particular were totally on the ball all weekend- they were fantastic!!
One question about letting trucks/tow vehicles out of the paddock area: why not allow those people out who are lined up waiting and ready to get out of the infield between sessions/races?? It seems like it would be a simple matter of having one person handle the exit gate and flag people out as soon as the track is clear, and before the next group of cars is allowed to go out onto the track. The track at Roebling Road (Savannah, GA) has a similar setup, and I’ve never had a problem getting into or out of the infield between run groups. We were packed up and ready to go at 5:30pm, but had to wait until after 7:00pm to get out of the infield. This may not seem like alot to those of you who have a short journey home, but it really delayed us for no legitimate reason.
Rig.
what cars were you crewing for? i’ll see if i got some paddock pics of them.
the track exit has always been a bit of a nightmare at mosport for some reason, i’ll never know why they can’t figure it out.
My crew just got back (a little over 2000 miles, round trip) and they had a BLAST! Our customers and friends Tom Benjamin (green Alfa Romeo GTV) and Kevin Wittman (black Swift Sports 2000) had an absolutely terrific time and were very happy with the event! It’s easy to talk people into coming to this event because it has such a “competitor friendly” reputation. Thanks to all!

i’ve got a pic or 2 of the alfa, i’ll post it tonight when i get home.
there wasn’t many of the big trans am cars that i could see (we were only there for a few hours) but it was great to see a few of the small bore cars there to run against our friend Ian Lok in the Volvo 122.
