This weekend VARAC will celebrate it’s 27th Vintage Festival at the historic track at Mosport and what a weekend it will be. This is also the 40th anniversary of the famed Trans Am series. Mosport is one of the original tracks the the Trans Am ran at and there is no better place to see these ground pounders race. In addition to the on track action, there is a huge car show in the infield. Don’t forget to walk around the paddock, where you can get up close and personal with some of the coolest racers in the world. If you’re really unlucky, you might even find me wandering the paddock on Saturday afternoon.

[…] It’s been a busy weekend here in The Garage, so there’s been no time for posting. Watch tomorrow evening when we take the cover off all the pics and stories from the VARAC Festival at Mosport this weekend. Oh yes, please pass the aloe vera. We need to deal with the nuclear Mosport sunburns! […]
Sunburn! It was like sitting under heat lamps. How is it that it never is cloudy on the VARAC weekend?
Made for some great racing and photos.I felt a little light in the head sitting in my MINI during the red flag on sunday.Must have been 120 inside that little box.
Can’t wait to see some of the picures.
Cheers

we weren’t around on Sunday. What’s the story with the red flag? nothing too bad i hope.
Seems that Cindy made an ill advised attempt to repass Russ on the inside of turn 8 and put Russ on his roof. Russ is alright which is more than can be said for his poor Spit. The red flag was a disaster with us over heating on the grid, reset to starting positions, and unable for some to refire due to over heating. Myself, I learned that you can pass for the lead on the outside of turn 2 only once in your life, the second time doesn’t work so well!
There are two sides to every racing incident and Cindy states that events happened differently in turn 8.
