I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched a supposed Pro Detailer struggle to get some sort of film off a car’s windows with regular paper towel, or worse yet the dreaded newsprint. Let’s face it folks these old methods just take too much effort and don’t really get the best finish ayway.
The smart guys have discovered Micro Fiber. These incredible towels will do anything from removing wax quickly & easily to cleaning glass with a quick wipe.
How do they work? It’s simple really. Just like your high tech outdoor clothing, micro fibre uses thousands of tiny fibers that are much smaller than those found in the cottons used to make traditional terry towels. These tiny fibers pick up much more stuff off the surface you are cleaning. Also, they don’t pill like cotton does so they don’t create swirl marks like a terry towel.
One thing that prevents many Pros from using these towels is their cost. A 12″ square towel is often as much as $10 each, but don’t let this fool you. You are definately getting what you pay for. These are so good that you will want to buy enough to have a bunch for glass and another bunch for wax & interior duties. Don’t forget the windows in the house & all that stainless in the kitchen.

I’m a convert to microfiber towels. They are great at removing wax (I prefer Griot’s Best of Show Wax, but will probably switch to zaino), and they leave NO fibers behind.
Now I cheap out and buy them at Pep Boys or Sam’s, but they work very well. I’m not convinces that $10 microfiber towels are better (for what i use them for).
I’ve also been happy with them for window and interior cleaning.
