The Joy of Expression

cavtat_450.jpg

There is a reason that tattoo shops aren’t allowed to ink folks under 16 or 18 depending on where you are. Youth and stupidity go hand in hand. Case in point, the spud pictured above. A Chevy Cavalier of all things. This dude is doomed to stocking shelves in the local grocery store for the rest of his life.

I’ve been jonesin’ for a tatty for years, but have wanted to be sure that it was the right image. It had to be automotive art and it couldn’t look like that abomination above. It had to be something classic and tasteful.

The end decision is a variation on a Dennis Simon image of a Shelby Cobra that was on the poster for the Palm Springs Road Race from 1991. The actual inking is happening this afternoon!

Photos to follow later this evening.

Oh. Oh no. That has to be one of the worst tattoos I’ve ever seen. That’s one the artist should’ve walked away from.

Can you say “coverup”?
