Today’s news from Nissan indicates that they are dedicated to continuing to build vehicles that are competent in off road conditions, with the introduction of a new Extreme Off Road testing facility. The 2.3 Hectare off road park will be used by engineers to safely test trucks under controlled conditions. Those big brain guys get all the fun!

Nissan has just revealed this teaser of an upcoming Crossover SUV that is due to debut in the fall of 2007. While some regulars in the blogosphere suspect this may be the replacement for the Murano, here in The Garage we have a different view. Up here in the Great White North, we have a little known vehicle (to the American reader) called the X-Trail. The X-Trail Was a Europe only vehicle for years, until it’s release in Canada as a CRV fighter in 2005. Our bet is that this little snippet is really the aft quarter of the Qashqai.
