The Flat Over Crest team has killed it yet again with the launch of video magazine #2, where Warwick Patterson follows Ken Block (above at the X Games) to New Zealand for the Rally of Whangarei. Block details the recce process and how it can make or break a driver’s rally. The film quality and soundtrack are stunning.
Warwick Patterson is definitely the Warren Miller of Rallysport!
Once you’ve watched the video, be sure to stop by the new FOC message board and say hi.
It just blows my mind sometimes how many cool things are floating around on the internet. Ryan at The Jalopy Journal has just come across this full colour video of the 1941 Indy 500. Just a warning though, this is one to watch at home with a nice cold beverage as it is a full 29:57 long!
It’s going to be a big day here in The Garage, as we head down the the Champ Car race so I thought it would be appropriate to post a video from Mosport. Youtube user FetishHose (nice handle) has posted the following video of qualifying taken from the front straight. While the video quality isn’t great, the sound is great. Turn up the speakers and fill your office with the sounds of a dozen Cosworth DFV powered F1 cars. Continue reading →
If you’ve ever heard some of Bill Shatner’s singing efforts, you know that there isn’t much funnier than Captain Kirk stoned off his ass singing Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Until now that is. Shot for the new ABC series Fast Cars & Superstars, this in car footage of Willi Shat is an instant classic.
Wow…spend a couple of weeks away from the news feeds and look what happens! DEI Inc no longer has a DE driving for them!
That’s right, Dale Earnhardt Jr has announced that he will be leaving the company his Pappa founded, which is currently run by his evil step monster.
After watching the very carefully worded press conference, I have a prediction to make. Junior will move to RCR for a couple of seasons, while watching Theresa piss away Dale’s company. Then, just before the bank forecloses on the company, Junior will swoop in to regain control of what is rightfully his. Come visit in 2 years to see if I’m right!
As a kid, the opening scene from Gumball Rally were burned into my brain. What could be better than a secret society of oddball characters in hot cars racing across the land without a care for local speed limits?
The modern version is called Gumball 3000 and it’s a lot more organized and a tiny bit more lawful, but it still exudes the same excitement. The star studded 2007 edition kicks off this Sunday in London, England before making it’s way to Asia and then back to London.
Remember the video we posted a while back of the Ford BBQDiesel? It looks like some of that afterburner technology has been fitted to this Ford GT FIA GT3 race car.
Most of you know Alain De Cadenet from his work as on air talent on SpeedTV. What you may not know is that De Cadenet is somewhat of a renaissance man, with a very wide range of hobbies. Not only is he an accomplished racer, but he is a noted expert in read wine, stamps and vintage aircraft among other things. He even owns a WWII Spitfire, which brings us to this older video. Obviously the shot was set up for effect for a show on the Spit, but things were a bit closer than he expected! I wonder if this is actually his airplane.
TV host Mike Rowe, creator of the Discovery Channel’s hit show Dirty Jobs is now getting dirty Ford style with the 2007 Ford F-150. Beginning with a series of Dirty Job ad spots this weekend, the Ford & Dirty Jobs team will be taking their promo to the streets.
Regular readers here in The Garage know that I’m a sucker for killer car videos. When they are assembled by Canadians I’m just stoked & even a bit proud. The team at Flat Over Crest, have been talking the last few months about their upcoming video magazine. The fruits of their labour, produced and directed by Warwick Patterson are now available to us, the internet viewers. Continue reading →
