Vandenbrink GTO

Modern Ferraris somehow never seem to capture the essense of the heritage that stands behind them. Perhaps the bosses need to leave Italy and look around The Netherlands instead. Vandenbrink Design is the new home of 2 big brained guys who have a terrific sense of history.

While there are no technical details yet, the plan is for the bodies to be built by Ferrari specialist and coach builder Hietbrink in The Netherlands. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that this beauty actually makes it into production and has a V12 and not a small block Chevy.

New Lamborghini Miura at Goodwood

DSC_2344-t.jpg

Over at Pistonheads, they are reporting that the Lamborghini Miura Concept may be coming closer to production. While many people dislike the retro design trend, I think there are some timeless shapes that are worth working with. The Miura is one of those shapes. Reported to be based on the Audi Lemans coupe, the Miura will be powered by a 700 hp Lambo V12 that drives all 4 wheels. It may appear in early 2007 at a cost in the 300,000 lb area, with production limited to only a few hundred.

There is a guy in my neighbourhood who drives an original and it’s always a pleasure to see, not to mention hear. I’m looking forward to seeing this one reach production.
