On our recent trip to Lime Rock, I had hoped to bring something cool home for the kids, just like any good Dad is supposed to do. What was I going to pick up? Who knew. Until of course I was taking some respite from the sun while poking about in the Driving Impressions store and came across the Scalextric slot cars. I knew I had to bring home some slot car goodness.

If you have kids, then you’ve already been subjected to the madness surrounding the Build a Bear Workshop concept. The kids choose a bear, watch while he is filled with stuff and then choose from a wide array of clothes and accessories. They’ve even got a little stuffed Harley to go along with those jeans and pleather chaps.

There are times when you want to grab a greenie and give them a shake. It seems the environmental squids are offended by McDonald’s choice to include HUMMER toys with Happy Meals this summer. ”
From the Detroit News:
Brendan Bell, a clean energy analyst at the Sierra Club, says Hummers in Happy Meals are about as responsible as “dipping a Big Mac in the fry oil and serving it to your kids.”
They rail on about old technology and environmentally insensitive vehicles. Give it a rest…they are kids toys. You get them for free with your kid’s lunch.
