Obviously young Frankie has no clue of those who have preceded him. May he have the good fortune to podium at Sebring or to win at Datyona when he’s 70 or even to pilot a Trans Am car to a top 5 in the rain at 80!
Or perhaps the young B-lister thinks his accomplishments are more meaningful.

Steve McQueen. I’m almost at a loss to describe just how much that name means to me. An American icon who was fanatical about anything with wheels. As much as the movies influenced me growing up, it was his real life interests that excite me as an adult. The fact that his kid is about my age brings the whole scene a little closer into my realm.

Once in a while a film comes along that creates everlasting icons. Sometimes, they aren’t even particularly good films but what they stand for becomes part of the fabric of modern culture. Steve Mcqueen’s Le Mans was one such film. Combining all the key style elements from 1970 with some groundbreaking film footage all pulled together by the cool that was Steve McQueen.
