On eBay: Savage Speed Garage 49 Merc

dsc049391.JPG

Our west coast contributor, Aaron Von Minden from Savage Speed Garage has been working on this 49 Mercury for the past few months. The list of projects in The Garage has grown too long and it’s time for Aaron and the Merc to part company. This super clean retro machine is almost ready to roll, just needing your own style to be applied to the interior. Outside, paint it or leave it bare metal, though maybe a coat of satin clear might help if the car is coming north.

The mechanically restored Merc has already taken it’s first road trip, to the annual Paso Robles Cruise Nationals and performed flawlessly along the way.

Be sure to visit the auction now, as this supremely cool ride won’t last long.

Getting some shiny head in The Garage

We never cease to be amazed by some of the things we see presented to us by our West Coast contributer, Aaron Von Minden. Today we have bronze cylinder heads and an intake manifold that have just returned from the polishing shop. These are for the flathead in the Savage Speed shop truck! Too kool.

More Werk on the Merc!

We’ve been watching the progress of the 49 Mercury in the Savage Speed Garage, our official West Coast connection. The first few updates have been clean up and maintenance. In the last week or so, the Kustom Werk has started! This is our first view of the stripped and slammed monster. I’ll bet you that it won’t be too many more weeks before we’re able to post video of the Merc’s first burnout!

Savage Speed -dripping with cool

When was the last time you saw a Rod at full opposite lock? The guys over at Savage Speed in sunny CA have a serious handle on the cooler things that Hot Rodding has to offer. The gallery has some hot pics of Rods in action, not to mention some killer collectibles like a Don Garlits firesuit. What is that nasty stain on the leg? If you are looking for speed parts for your rat rod that have some real history, these guys can hook you up. How about a Cadillac flathead that ran at Bonneville in 1950. Too Cool.
