Catch The Vibe: The Canadian Launch of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe

Pontiac is launching the 2009 Vibe here in Canada with a bit of reality TV style fun. Beginning in a couple of weeks, 4 teams of journalists will be piling in to a bunch of Pontiac’s killer hatch and traipsing around Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in an attempt to become the top team. Armed only with a Blackberry Pearl and the support of their friends. That’s about all organizers have said about the contest so far.

Oh yes, did I mention that The Garage is going along for the ride? That’s right, the good folks from Pontiac have invited me to join in the fun. That means that our loyal legions of readers can follow along online and help The Garage’s team pull out a big win! We will need your help to get to the top.

Keep your eyes on the official challenge website where the full roster of participants will be revealed on March 17th to fans and competitors. Also on the 17th, The Garage will reveal our plans to get all of you involved too!

Wronged by The Price is Right

A Washington State woman who won a car on “The Price Is Right” claims the show gave her a salvaged car, not the new Pontiac GTO Coupe she won, reports the New York Post.

In court papers filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Donna Tillman claims she “came on down” in June 2004 and won a new Pontiac GTO Coupe, worth $33,495. Ms. Tillman claims her car got bounced around from Australia to San Francisco to Pasadena before being delivered to her.

Pontiac to build Solstice Coupe

The folks at GM are working hard to resurrect all of their brands within their respective niches. Pontiac hit a home run when they released the drop dead sexy Solstice roadster and now it looks like they have plans to build upon that model’s success. Way back in December, the internets got all fired up when Bob Lutz told the folks at Winding Road that a coupe version of the Solstice was in the works. In fact, at the time, Lutz went so far as to say “If we did it, it would look exactly like the Pontiac Solstice Coupe Concept Car that we had at the ’02 show. Remember it? The orange one.”
