I’m not sure how I missed this story last year, but I learned about it in a fun way.

I was about to take a photo of Charles Espenlaub on the mock grid at Mosport, while he was sitting in the Mazda6, when a Speed official approached him. She said something to the effect of “now, what are you not going to do this year?”

Charles looked at me, smiled and looked back at her…

She turns to me and says: “last year, Charles went off track and somehow ended up sharing a beer with the fans, right in front of the cameras!”

Truly an act of a racer who understands racing in Canada! Big Ron would be proud!
