Len Hunt the affable head honcho at Kia dropped by to give us the skinny on the new Borrego SUV,  getting ready for a September launch.

The 7 seater comes with a KIA first time V8 or a V6. No offense Len, but what were you guys thinking of?  It seems Kia is trying to take squatters rights on abandoned property. This less then spectacular entry into the midsize SUV market comes at a time when most other manufacturers are abandoning ship in this segment.

You have to admire the fact that Kia chose a few months back to begin publishing a blog to it’s English speaking customers. Unlike some other corporate blogs that are written by the professional spin doctors, Kia’s BUZZ blog is written by employees, complete with the occasional translational gaff. I love it!

Kia has lost some of the dramatics surrounding the Detroit Auto Show revel of the 2009 Borrego. Pictures have started to float around cyberspace of Kia’s first entry into the midsize SUV market.

A V6 engine will be standard; while a new V8 - another first for the Kia brand - will be optional. The new SUV will incorporate the latest in noise and vibrations-reducing engineering, also offering consumers the Korean manufacturer’s renowned 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, kind of nondescript.
