Thanks to the Axis of Oversteer, we finally know where Jacques Villeneuve the younger got his golden locks!
It seems that JV accidentally partook of some new age urine therapy when he drank Filipe Massa’s wee!
Didn’t they teach young Jacques never to leave his drink alone?

Once a racer, always a racer. It seems that nobody knows that better than Jacques Villeneuve. Despite having a healthy dose of negative public opinion, the guy just wants to race. It’s not that he needs a job, he just needs the competition. To that end, he’s been hard at work trying to join the NASCAR ranks, but hasn’t had too much luck getting his chance. Today though, things might change as he spends his first day in a Toyota Tundra at Chicagoland Speedway today courtesy of Bill Davis Racing.
I’m a firm believer that a true champion can win in any series given the opportunity with the right equipment. Let’s hope that the Canadian ex-pat can prove my theory right.

Peugeot announced this morning that it would be taking one of the new Peugeot 908 HDi cars to Paul Ricard for the official Le Mans test on March 25,26. It’s interesting to note that 1 car and six of seven drivers will be coming along for the session. The entire team, save one driver are making the trip.
That one driver would be none other than superstar Jacques Villenueve. Is this a legit absence, or is JV already not playing well with others? One thing is certain though, he could use a shave and a haircut! Images from a previous test session at Le Castellet show his new look that could be called French Canadian Farmer Chic.

It seems like Jacques Villeneuve has finally come to his senses. The place for an ex F1 World Champion is at Le Mans, not chasing rednecks around some dust bowl. What better place for Jacques to shine than with two time Le Mans winner Peugeot.
For the first time since 2005, Peugeot will contest the classic spring endurance event, with their new 908 HDi FAP. The project is proceeding alongside the 207 competition package which includes a tin top and a spider. The French Canadian driver is part of an all star line up that includes sports car racer Pedro Lamy and open wheel star Sebastion Bourdais.

NASCAR should be a much different series next year. Names like Montoya and Toyota are sure to shake things up and the good old boys are gonna whine about them furrin guys takin’ all the wins. There have been some other names trolling the paddock for a ride too. Paul Tracy hasn’t been able to get into a seat, and Jacques Villeneuve was said to be in talks with Roush Racing to put a ride together. While PT is fooling around with brewskis and golf carts, the scruffy Jacques has been busy putting together a team.
Villeneuve and former manager Craig Pollack are said to be sinking up to 100 million dollars of JV’s money into building their own NASCAR team, which will be assembled by the Roush Racing folks. Talk about a heck of an arrive and drive program! There has been no word if it will be a one or two car team, or who the second driver might be if there is one. One can assume that JV will take time out of his singing career to tackle roundy rounds.

Years ago, in the so called Golden Age of racing, race car drivers were much different than they are today. The sport itself was obviously much different as well. Drivers in those days were truly racers, who would and could race anything with wheels on it. The car builders (they weren’t really manufacturers then) would often build different types cars for different series for them, rather than focusing on just one type of racing.

Never one to hold his tounge, Jacques Villeneuve has revealed his opinion on Michael Schumacher. In an interview for the upcoming issue of F1 Racing, Villeneuve has essentially said that Schumi is a deceptive, no personality dirtbag that the world will forget about when he’s gone. JV actually goes so far as to compare Mikey to the late, great Ayrton.
On the Ayrton topic, you have to give JV credit. Senna was up front about it when he planned to stuff someone. Mikey plays dumb, thinking the whole world doesn’t get it. What get’s me is where does JV get off thinking the world is going to remember him? Sure, he has more personality that Schumacher, but in some cases that may not be a good thing. Jacques has pissed off a lot of people, not only in the sport, but more importantly the fans. In reality, how many people outside Quebec will remember his name for anything other than his father’s son? The world has definately forgotten about the Uncle Jaques. Maybe they can race snowmobiles together!

Following Christiano Da Matta’s injuries after hitting a deer at Elkhart lake, his team has a dilemma. Rusport must have sponsor committments, not to mention team points on the line. As distasteful as it may be, they need to fill the seat while their man recovers.
Over at F1 Fanatic, they have suggested that the temp could end up being none other than 1995 Champ Car Champeen Jacques Villeneuve. While he would be a logical choice, do you think he can take time out from his busy schedule? Oh wait…he doesn’t have a job, unless you call hanging out at the local recording studio work!
I hate to say it, but I think the Justin Wilson might be a better choice.

When I first heard rumours of Jacques Villeneuve recording a single, I thought it must be a prank, possibly even a drunk karaoke incident. Then actual lyrics and even a title appeared. Today I decided to go have a listen, only to find that the single is hosted on JV’s myspace page! Un Freakin’ believable. Former World Champion turned pylon, now turned Roch Voisin wannabe!
Now I know that JV is a fan of some pretty heavy Alt Rock, so I kind of suspected a heavy garage band sound. What I got was a French Canadian folk ballad with a video that looks like Julie Andrews will appear at any moment! This cat is LAME!
For any of you who really want to pick up one of the 5000 copies of this drivel will have to visit Jacques’ restaurant NEWTOWN in Montreal. Maybe bring along your Celine Dion cd’s & JV will Autograph them on behalf of his fellow expat French Canadian.
