Team CBR takes the green at La Carrera

Our man Gary Faules began the 2007 La Carrera Panamerica rally with a 4th place in class and a 19th overall. That’s pretty good for the first competitive stage in a new car, not to mention that this is Gary’s first rally type event. Even with years of racing, rally is a different type of event, where driver’s pace themselves, rather than having other cars on the road to give some idea of pace. As Gary finds his groove, I’m sure we’ll be seeing some top 3 stage finishes!

Lucky on Film at La Carrera Panamerica

It sounds like things are going like clockwork for Team California’s Best in Mexico as they prepare for the start of the 20th Anniversary running of La Carrera Panamerica. These guys are pros and it shows. First through scrutineering, and making it through without a hitch, while other teams are still scrambling to get final details together.

Team CBR has been able to take advantage of their spare time to meet the fans, goof around on a funky pit cart and get some camera time for the local news. It looks like they are having way too much fun! Head on over to the official Team CBR blog to see more great pictures.

Team CBR invades Texas

Our man on the west coast, Gary Faules and the rest of the Team California’s Best have made it to Laredo, Texas where they’ve rendezvoused for the trip into Mexico en mass. Last night was the first of many La Carrera Panamerica event parties, let’s hope everyone behaved!

Lucky relaxes with a Shelby racing legend

“That is one hell of a great sounding and handling car.” Bob Bondurant

Gary and Will Faules had a rest stop yesterday in Phoenix on the way down to Mexico. Following a casino brunch and a bit of good luck (how appropriate) their luck improved even more, with a call from Bob Bondurant’s office. Next thing you know, Lucky was out of the trailer and Gary was being led around Firebird International Raceway by non other than the legendary Shelby racer himself. Gary tells the whole story over at Lucky’s build blog.

Gary, on the return trip, why not put Bob in the car and then compare lap times?

Lucky is about to make a run for the border

It’s almost time to slap this pony on the butt and head south of the border to run with some bad hombres. But before I leave I just wanted to thank everyone at THE GARAGE for making Team California’s Best feel right at home. When I was first invited I was told it would be just like hanging out with some friends down at the garage and it has been exactly that for sure.

Please keep an eye on our blog since we will be making another announcement in the next few days when Jon will explain how our new sponsor will make it possible for you to keep up to speed (pun intended) with Lucky and Team California’s Best Racing as we take on the La Carrera Panamericana by utilizing the latest in technology with regards to Social Mobile Networking. In the meantime go ahead and be some of the first to get signed up. It’s easy and it’s free and it is going to be the hottest, newest wave of excitement since the invention of the cell phone. http://teamcbracing.com/signup.html
