“We picked up right where we left off during our testing session†said Bourque. “The whole ESR team worked really hard and gave me a terrific car†he added.
Bourque would qualify the #6 Revolution Resources – Fight Network – OCR Gas Bar Toyota sixteenth but would have to wait until Saturday morning to begin the race due to extreme weather across the southern US. “It was quite an impressive display of the power of Mother Nature†noted Pierre.
When the green flag waved on Saturday morning Bourque had the benefit of some great experience to help guide him around the race track. “My spotter for this event was Eddie D’Hondt who’s been around NASCAR forever as a team owner and he also happens to be the spotter for Kyle Busch so I knew I’d be in good hands†said the confident driver.
Through the early part of the race Bourque proceeded methodically with #6 Revolution Resources – Fight Network – OCR Gas Bar Toyota listening to D’Hondt and maneuvering his ride. “I learned so much during this race it was amazing†said Bourque. “This kind of Superspeedway racing is totally unique and it was so important to have Eddie helping me out†he added.
Following an early caution Bourque would find himself running as high as third in the field of thirty nine cars. “It was a real statement about how well this #6 Revolution Resources – Fight Network – OCR Gas Bar Toyota was running and how quickly we got up to speed†said the driver.
