The Garage visits 2008 Monterey Historics

While the Canadian office of The Garage was moving Scooby Doo’s automotive cousins around Toronto, the guys on the west coast were scoping out the 2008 Monterey Historics.

Gary Faules and Jon Emerson hopped aboard Lucky the GT-350 to visit the La Carrera Panamericana gathering at the annual event. They gave us so many cool photos I had a heck of a time deciding what to use as a lead in photo. The Bugatti just seemed too modern. While the Ferrari’s are undeniably sensual, how could I use a Prancing Horse, when there is a perfectly fitting Shelby in the house?

To get the full details of the guys trip, you’ll have to head on over to Gary’s blog where you’ll also find a ton of other great pictures. Gary took so many photos that he had to share some with our readers too and you’ll find them after the break.

Video: Bugatti Veyron spanks BMW M3

BMW’s M3 has become somewhat of an icon over the years and body styles. Classy and cool, it is as happy doing time in civil duties as it is kicking butt at lapping days. With over 400 hp on tap, the current model is fast like nobody’s business. Nobody’s business that is unless we’re talking about the ultra rare, ultra expensive Bugatti Veyron.

In this video, we see an M3 driver heat things up with a bit of smoky drifting before lining up beside the Veyron. The M3 gets a head start. The Bug does to the M3, what the M3 would do to a Pinto. It’s almost shocking.

Top 10 most expensive cars in the world

VEY.jpg

The folks over at AutoMotoPortal have compiled a list of the 10 most expensive cars in the world. While I haven’t researched to make sure they’ve got it all right, it looks like a pretty good list to me although they may have misplaced a car or two. How much is a Saleen S7 going for these days? Of course topping the list is the Bugatti Veyron at a paltry 1.7 mil.

Here they are:

#1. Bugatti Veyron $1,700,000

#2. Ferrari Enzo $1,000,000

#3. Pagani Zonda C12F $741,000

#4. Koenigsegg CCX $600,910

#5. Porsche Carrera GT $484,000

#6. Mercedes SLR McLaren $455,500

#7. Maybach 62 $385,250

#8. Rolls-Royce Phantom $320,000

#9. Lamborghini Murcielago $279,900

#10. Aston Martin Vanquish $255,000
