Here we go with the barn field cars again. This time it’s from Pownal, Vermont. Once again, the folks at Hemmings have unearthed some super cool stuff. These ones certainly aren’t a collectors dream, though if you’re restoring something you might want to have a look and see if there is some trim you need. You see, most of these cars in in the same sorry state as the bus pictured above. It seems that an old gent named George cast some of his old rides into the woods and over the years they were joined by dead cars from friends and well, who knows where they all came from.
Rather than let George send all these cool cars to the scrap heap, why not scoop some of the trim and glass for that project you’re working on. Head over to Hemmings, where Daniel Strohl will hook you up with the man in the woods.

It seems like the worlds barns are falling open one at a time over the past few months. First it was the giant Vermont stash. Next up, there was the sealed building in Portugal and more recently, the Massachussetts garage. Each time, enthusiasts around the world get all clammy thinking about what they would do if they found a hidden trove. The reality is that with each find, our chances of scoring our own personal find lessen.
Now we have news of yet another automotive crypt that has creaked open for the world to see. The contents of this one are oh so much more special than some of those other finds. This Maryland collection contains cars from the Teens through to the Thirties with names like Packard, Cadillac, Overland, Empire, Dagmar, Stanley and the list goes on and on. Some of these cars are super rare and almost all are complete specimens. Some are so good all they need is a really good bath and a change of fluids before they trundle off to a new life on the car show circuit.
Over at Old Cars Weekly you’ll find Eric Killorin’s full tale along with tons of droolworthy photos.

The barn car. The warehouse full of cars. Old cars of all sorts hidden away for years always give gearheads the shivers. This time, it’s a guy named Wilson whose 40 plus year old collection that has been opened up and is going to be sold off to pay the rent. Lucky for us, the folks at Hemmings were there this afternoon when the cave was opened up and got some great photos of the scene.
No word if Tom Hanks is planning to attend Wilson’s auction.

The only thing missing from this story is the real life Nick Cage. A warehouse sites unattended for a decade and a half, until someone decides to see what’s inside. Only one problem, the place is welded shut. No sweat, cut it open and let’s see what’s hiding in there.
It’s an entire fleet of classic and race cars, crusted with the fine sheen of bird droppings. No one has stepped forward to claim the cars, as if that’s any real surprise. These guys are probably rotting in a prison somewhere for some other misdemeanor.

We all dream about the ellusive barn car. You know the one, you’re driving around the countryside and see the tail end of some classic peeking out of the corner of a barn. Bruce Cliche has a couple of those barn cars, that is if you can call over 600 a couple. There are parts on top of parts. A couple of dozen school buses and a farm house full of engines, manifolds, cylinder heads and more. There is even a bus full of Muncie 4 speed trannies!
