American car shows are known for pretty girls. European shows are known for professional girls. Canadian shows are known for, well, no girls. Aside from some roller skaters that I missed while interviewing Chip Foose, Mitsubishi was the only company that included any female companionship for the new models.
At this year’s Canadian International Autoshow, Mitsubishi unveiled the new Lancer Ralliart and the Concept-cX. I’m somewhat embarrassed to say that the only shot I took of the Ralliart is way off in the background behind the cX. I suppose that’s because I think the little diesel runabout is ultimately a more important vehicle than the Evo IX’s little brother.

Hot on the heels of Chicago and Detroit comes the Canadian International Autoshow here in Toronto. Spread out at the base of the CN Tower, the CIAS is the largest show in North America, covering a whopping 850,000 square feet. Opening to the public on Friday, the fun starts tomorrow evening for us lucky media types and wannabes with the annual Chrysler media dinner. Wednesday will be full of press launches and unveiling’s and Thursday is the open house, where we get to see the show before Joe Public.
The production version of the Dodge Challenger, which will be built here in Canada, will be on display for the first time on it’s home soil.
