Capitalizing on the recent trend towards nostalgic cars, Fiat is set to release the 2007 500 which will also have an Abarth edition. UK auto mag Auto Express reports that the high performance version will sport wider fenders and stiffer suspension, coupled with a 150 hp turbo 4 cylinder that will propel the little beasty to 60 mph in about 8 seconds. The Abarth will be shown alongside the regular 500 at the Geneva auto show.

Abarth was a renowned tuning company that built performance and racing upgrades (and complete cars) for all sorts of Italian machinery. Perhaps most notable were the Fiat 500 and much later the potent 131.
