Catch The Vibe rolled into Toronto today for the first english speaking leg of the race celebrating the launch of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe in Canada. Your’s truly is scheduled to compete on Friday for Team Traction and to be honest, I’m totally psyched for it! The problem seems to be that my team, Team Traction started off strong, by the time the truck load of 2009 Pontiac Vibe’s said au revoir Montreal we had fallen from top spot to 3rd place. At the end of leg 1 here in Toronto the good, Team Traction has taken a firm hold on the bottom spot! It looks like we are going to have our work cut out for us later in the week as we try to climb back to the top.

So what can you, our faithful reader do? Simple really, just visit catchthevibe.ca and sign up to support Team Traction. Catch the Vibe, the Canadian launch of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe kicked off this morning in Montreal, with the first round of automotive writers taking on a whole host of challenges. We’ve been watching over the day as our Team Traction mates looked to be at the top of the heap all day. As the scores are being tabulated this evening, we seem to be falling behind, though I’m hopeful they’ll find us a few more points as the evening progresses.

There are 100 points up for grabs for the team who has the most online supporters come daybreak. If you haven’t joined up to support Team Traction yet, be sure to visit Catchthevibe.ca tonight to cheer for the home team!

Pontiac is launching the 2009 Vibe here in Canada with a bit of reality TV style fun. Beginning in a couple of weeks, 4 teams of journalists will be piling in to a bunch of Pontiac’s killer hatch and traipsing around Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in an attempt to become the top team. Armed only with a Blackberry Pearl and the support of their friends. That’s about all organizers have said about the contest so far.

Oh yes, did I mention that The Garage is going along for the ride? That’s right, the good folks from Pontiac have invited me to join in the fun. That means that our loyal legions of readers can follow along online and help The Garage’s team pull out a big win! We will need your help to get to the top.

Keep your eyes on the official challenge website where the full roster of participants will be revealed on March 17th to fans and competitors. Also on the 17th, The Garage will reveal our plans to get all of you involved too!
