Good suggestion. I have looked for video of the original mini as only Brack would drive it, but alas, not any that I could find. Do you have a source? I must admit I don’t recall Leon Lok’s Volvo, but that might be my age creeping in again.

Now that you mention the Honda series…I recall in the Eighties it was not that uncommon to see some of the Player’s Challenge Camaros and Firebirds on the road. Remember they had that funky exhaust that exited under the rear of the car but had removable plates at the side to bypass the mufflers when they were on track.

Quite common. I co drove in the first Sundown GP at Mosport in a MGB that was the owner’s daily drive.
Both of the “B’s” that the Racing Drivers School of Canada had were driven to and from the track and one of them I had use of one for several months on the road. It was fully road equipped.
I also remember driving the stripped one back from Harewood after a race. It got pretty cold and there was no heater and just a little plexi windscreen. I eventually had to put on my helmet and goggles for protection and felt like a complete idiot driving along the Queen Elizabeth that way.
When Judy raced in the Honda series in the late 70’s her race car was her daily drive from Leaside to Mississauga where she worked.

was it not still fairly common for the odd race car to be some folks daily driver?

I too have heard about these alu XK’s – would be a cool story to tell.

And then there were the 100M and 100S 4 cylinder Austin Healys. The 100S was really a full race car although it could maybe have been driven on the street.
There were apparently several all Aluminium bodied Jaguar XK120’s in Canada and these were really race cars not street cars. Mind you in those days a good number of full race cars were driven to and from the tracks and not trailered.
