When it comes to extreme motorsports here in North America, our choices are pretty limited. We have the X-Games, where closed course rally and motor cross have been added, but that’s about it. Over in Europe, they have the real deal. Teams of drivers race against each other in identically prepared machines, and oh what machines they are. A different car for each round. A buggy, an Aston Martin, a Ford Focus WRC, a Fiat Punto and a spec F touring car.
The track pits drivers against each other on identical 1 kilometer tracks, in the middle of a stadium. Tomorrow’s event is being held at Wembley Stadium.
So who are the drivers? Well, a bigger who’s who of drivers would be tough to imagine. 8 national teams bring some of the finest drivers in the world to fight for their country’s honour.
