ALMS series driver Jeroen Bleekemolen overshot a turn at last weekend’s inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix. Some writers say he went down the escape road to recover from his mistake but the loose right front wheel more likely caused the off track excursion. Regardless of the cause, Bleekemolen used his noodle and stopped to retrieve the wheel after it went astray. You see, teams must use the same tires to qualify and start the race. The Black Swan Racing 911 GT3 obviously needed that tire or it would have started from the back of the field despite having qualified on pole.
