One of the most exciting drives of the season so far in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car season has to be Sasha Anis’ blast from the back to the fourth in just 2 laps of Mosport last weekend at the Vortex Brake Pads 200.
Arriving late to the grid (one of the joys of being a car builder as well as a driver), Anis’ penalty meant that he had to start from the back instead of starting 3rd. With Mosport’s ever changing weather and a field full of intense competitors one would think that Anis had a race long battle ahead of him.
In fact, he pedaled the Castrol Edge sponsored Hyundai Genesis Coupe so fast that he climbed from last to 4th in just 2 laps. In the video below, the roof mounted camera catches most of those 2 laps. Things get a bit foggy near the end, as the lens is coated with goo from the spectacular failure of Michael DelleDonne’s BMW 330i.
Thanks Gary,
It was pretty wild. In hindsight it could have gone bad entering 4 there on the second lap around those touring cars. But it was awesome instead!
