Note from the road: Maps? We don’t need no stinkin’ maps!

For the first couple of hours, that’s all I saw yesterday. The suddenly, as the Violent Femmes belted out Blister in the sun, the sun broke through and blinded me through the sunroof. It only stuck around for a an hour or so, and then was dreary for the rest of the 9 hour drive.

9 hours behind the wheels is a long time. I don’t know how long distance truckers and transcontinental record holders do it. At least there was great scenery going by, ranging from fields to mountains covered in fall colours. There was even a goat humping a sheep!

It’s tough trying to take pictures and drive at the same time, I have a few great shots of the roof.

For the most part, the drive went went smoothly thanks to google maps directions. Until that is, somewhere near the New York, Massachusetts border. The directions said to get off at exit 21. I-90 split into 2 at exit 24! I guessed and headed towards Boston, found I-91 and headed south. I made it with only 1 stop for instructions. Not bad huh?

Anyway, time to see what the Marriott has on offer for breakfast. The tale of the road shall continue this evening.
