Some of the coolest, weirdest cars on the planet have been kept for the streets of Japan for years, never being seen on North American shores. Nissan is finally changing all of that by bringing the funky beyond belief Cube to our market in the spring of 2009. The little asymmetrical box on wheels was unveiled today at the LA Auto Show and while we aren’t there, the Nissan folks have been kind enough to send a few pics our way with more on the way.
When the 5 diminutive 5 seater makes it’s way here, it will be powered by a 1.8L 4 cylinder putting 122 hp through the front wheels via a choice of two transmissions. The masses may choose the CVT option, but here in The Garage we’ll be looking to drive the 6 speed manual. Of course the Cube is all about personal style, so Nissan will be offering tons of accessories.
We can’t wait!

The Cube should please a lot of people who were turned off by the second generation Scion xB.
The Cube looks like it’ll be a neat vehicle…do they have any other pictures of it besides this one? I’d like to be able to see the entire thing…
We do have more images. We are having some odd server issues that are preventing us from posting them.
UGLY, hideous, my son’s lego cars are more attractive.
More picts…

I love the look of this car! This is one of those polarizing styles – you love it or hate it, with very little fence sitting.
Any word on Canadian pricing?
I think it looks like a Scion xb that’s been made of cheap plastic and left out in the sun for too long, it looks to me like it’s slowly melting
Either that, or it’s not made of steel at all, but rather a big balloon that’s been filled with too much air!
Like Jouni says, you’ll either love it or hate it, and I won’t be accused of straddling the fence on that one!
Crash, that was hilarious! I have images of the bad guys in Raiders of the Lost Ark melting…
I still like it though – it makes it even cooler for me that you had such inventive comments…
