A couple of weeks ago at the Quail Lodge Motorsports Gathering, Porsche super tuner Ruf released their newest creation, the RK Coupe. Based on the Porsche Cayman, the RK Coupe blends the power and reliability that Ruf cars are known for with some Italian styling from StudioTorino.
The Kompressor on this engine is a type of centrifugal compressor that uses a planetary gear box and a Poly-Rip mechanical belt. Consider this sort of a cross between a turbo and a supercharger. Regardless of how it gets there, this beast puts out 440 hp, which is enough to propel the car from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. The RK Coupe has a top speed in the neighbourhood of 190 mph.
With a production run of only 49 cars, the Ruf RK Coupe is sure to retain it’s $245,000 US value. Even better news is that the car is available in the United States. Now if they can only figure out how to make the government whiners up here in Canada happy.
Damn sexy……. only 49 cars built, even if you have the 245k you can;t get one. I hope someone makes a knockoff bodykit like that. At least I can pretend
