Was it a bad 60’s psychedelic flashback nightmare or was it reality? It was certainly the real deal if you were in Hanover, Germany this past fall for the 60th anniversary celebration of the VW Mini-Bus or if you are from England the “Camper” or Germany the “Bulli.”

71,000 thousand minibus fanatics and 5,100 vehicles were on hand. To add to the frenzy, VW minibus owner Peter Townshend and The Who gave a concert featuring the song “Magic Bus.”
The celebrations started with a special convoy through Hanover from the VW factory to the showground hosting the event where there was a covered stage to honor vehicles nominated for special prizes, plus a display of 100 historic and unusual models and exhibits from the VW museum, including the original design sketch from 1947.
Cool event.
