With the news that Ken Block is moving to Ford in an effort to tackle the WRC, there are also the naysayers who are determined that he can’t do anything more than showboat. While it is true that the talent pool is pretty deep in Euro rally, Block has shown that he can go pretty deep himself when he needs to. Of course the question is, can he perform at a world class level for extended periods?
Video after the break.
That remains to be seen, but this summer he attacked the Concord Pond stage at the 2009 New England Forest Rally this summer and beat the standing stage record. A record that was set by him in 2008. The 3 camera angles give a pretty decent view of Block on full attack. Nice work.

Thanks for posting that, it was great!
Block’s move to Ford is because he see’s the benefit of EcoBoost and to build a desire among our children for hi powered small cars with AWD. Oh! and money.
Ken is no dummy that’s for sure. What he sees is a major company that is hell bent to make young buyers sit up and take notice and what better person more qualified to step up to the plate than him. Ford…. Block… Has a nice ring to it don’t ya think. I believe Block is betting on the same thing I am, that Ford will do whatever it takes to make him fast. Think about it, if you owned a pub and the Corona gals asked if they could hang out there wouldn’t you set up a table for them?
