Here at The Garage, we’re always pleased to hear about more power, and the latest Jaguar XF Supercharged is no exception. Slotted below the top of the line XFR, the XF Supercharged is motivated by the new 5.0L Supercharged AJ-V8, delivering 470 hp and 424 lb ft of torque. Jaguar claims a 0-60 mph time of 4.9 seconds. This replaces the 4.2L supercharged V-8 carried over from the S-Type. As before, a six-speed automatic is the only transmission available.
To help cope with the added oomph, Jaguar has upgraded the car’s vented disc brakes. Adaptive Dynamics (computer controlled, continuously variable damping rates) and Active Differential Control come standard.
From outside, only the the most hard-core Jaguar enthusiast will tell the XF Supercharged from lesser models. The only visual cues offered here are unique 20″ alloy wheels, silver-grey painted brake calipers, quad polished exhaust pipes and discreet ‘Supercharged’ badging.
Inside the XF Supercharged, the driver is treated to contrast color stitching on the dashboard and door panel tops, a suedecloth headliner, Rich Oak veneer, a 440W Bowers & Wilkins surround sound stereo, HD radio and a heated steering wheel as standard equipment.
The XF Supercharged is expected to be in showrooms in October with a base price of $68,000USD.
