The Garage is a magical place that has connected many people in both the virtual and real worlds. Two farmboys, one from Nebraska and the other from Oregon grew up decades apart, yet both moved to California in search of the automotive utopia. One built a life surrounded by road racing and road cars, while the other became immersed in the kool of rodding from an era long before his time. That kool shaped a career in design with two companies that have changed the course of modern culture.

Ahh…California Dreamin’ indeed!

How weird is it then that Gary Faules and Aaron Von Minden should meet in a garage, through a virtual garage based way up north in Canada?

Yesterday afternoon, the captain of Savage Speed found his way into the Team California’s Best home base for the first time since moving to Silicon Valley. Matches and gasoline indeed! Gary & Aaron hopped into Lucky and headed out for a visit to Impact Engineering to check out an upcoming project of Gary’s. Hmmm….he’s been quiet about that one! Never a pair to miss a gathering of cool cars, the boys did a quick u-turn into an impromptu cruise at a small local shop and checked out the locals, while the locals checked out Lucky. Somewhere along the line, the boys found some time to play with Roxie the shop Pit Bull at Impact.

Lord help us when Aaron and Gary get Lucky and the coupe together. That could be a hell of a quarter mile battle!
