Is Mitsubishi in the early stages of designing and producing the next generation of the Eclipse?

Mitsubishi gave a sketch preview of a small lightweight, four wheel drive concept called the Concept-RA. The wraps will come off the four cylinder diesel during January’s Detroit Auto Show.

The flesh and blood concept will house a 2.2. liter, 202 hp turbo diesel engine that will feature Mitsubishi’s MIVEC electronic valve control system.

You might say “only 202 hp?” Well Mitsubishi will make sure that every horse works to optimum efficiency via the concepts all wheel drive new “Super All Wheel Drive Control” system. The control system coordinates the actions of the car’s active steering, damping, center differential, yaw control, stability control and sport antilock braking systems to maximize traction, cornering and braking potential, so it will be assured that the RA will put every bit of its 202hp to good effect.
