As it is the Friday evening leading up to Memorial Day weekend, it is only appropriate that we should unveil our first video of the 2009 summer season. TheGarageBlog.com’s official Video Ninja, Scott Simmons, was on site for the IndyCar pre season test session at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama.

This is not your typical race footage, as Scott has a knack for including some of the great off track scenery as well. No, not that scenery, other interesting stuff around the track that the less observant might not notice. Be sure to watch the full scree version in HD and crank the speakers to hear those wastegates let off pressure.

Our HD video after the break should help get you ready for the start of the Indy 500 on Sunday.

Scott,

Great video! Could I possibly get a copy of this video for use as we try to attract an Indy race to Birmingham in 2010?

My email is shown above.

Thanks for the compliment Don! We are very proud to present Scott’s work here and this new video showcases your facility nicely. I have responded by e-mail and you should hear from Scott shortly.

Hey Don. Absolutely. Anything to get the cars there in the future. I believe Gary is sending you an email with my info so please contact me and we can talk further.

I really enjoyed the 3D look as the camera past spectators in the begining of the video.

I liked that too – it gives a good feel of the crowd.
