As excitement grows for the growth of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada, the IMSA series is also at Mosport this weekend and their first race of the weekend was spectacular.
27 identically prepared Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars started the 25 lap race, which proved to be a competitive battle throughout the field. In fact, just 18 seconds covered 1st through 25th and those 25 cars were all on the same lap.
Tim McKenzie led the race from pole to checker in the Kelly Moss Motorsports #92, while Henrique Cisneros in the #26 NGT Motorsports car was just over a second behind. Third spot on the podium was clinched by Mark Bullitt in the Muscle Milk Team Cytosport Porsche.
The level of competition in this series proves that it is a winning package that will be a favorite with fans and teams alike as the Canadian version of the series grows.
