The IndyCar circus has rolled into Toronto, reviving the big race by the lake. After a year without a race, it is great to feel the hype around one of Toronto’s most important events once again. AndrettiGreen bought the event and have been carefully at work building a strong base, knowing that if they do it right they will be on their way to recreating the magic this event held in the Eighties and Nineties. If media preparations leading up are any indication, I think we are in for a great weekend.

I’ll be at the track Friday and Saturday, grabbing photos and doing my best to post them during the day. This year, media parking is right beneath the media center which is a short tunnel walk away from pit lane so I should have lots of time to get online.

If you have never been to the Toronto Indy and are in town, you owe it to yourself to visit this weekend. We’ve got the race schedule after the break.

Can we get a Friday crowd estimate, pls?

Doing a quick count on the Gold grandstand during the afternoon IndyCar practice, I counted approximately 400 people. Not sure about Silver T3 or T9.

Under 4000 total for sure
