Here in home office of The Garage, we’ve been keeping half an eye on the recent season of Dancing With the Stars. For journalistic purposes. Really. How often does one get to watch an Indy 500 winner shimmy with a smokin’ hot 19 year old while laying a beating on a Spice Girl and an Osmond?
His Latin rhythm and the instincts of a champion allowed Mr. Castroneves to shine all through the competition and in the end he won the Dancing With The Stars mirror ball. Along the way though, it became very evident that there was some serious chemistry between the IRL Champ and his partner Julianne Hough. Enough so that while watching the finale on Tuesday night, there was a friendly bet placed in The Garage that we’d be hearing that they were dating soon.
We obviously were not aware of either parties’ relationship status, so today’s news is a tiny bit amusing. It seems that our hero was actually already engaged to Miami business exec Aliette Vazquez who has announced that the engagement is off. Indeed, Miss Hough was also engaged and broke that off earlier in the year.
So folks…any bets on how long before the paparazzi are showing photos of Helio and Julianne in public?
