We’ve been waiting patiently to review the upcoming Pontiac Solstice Coupe. Over dinner in Chicago earlier this week was the fact that GM has gone deathly quiet in regards to the new 2 door, not to mention a bunch of other topics.

We’ve all had the nagging feeling that Pontiac wasn’t long for this world, but with hopes that it would be kept around as a niche brand I thought we just might get to drive the car.

Edmunds.com reported last night that an inside source says The General will announce the demise of Pontiac on Monday. Not surprising, but certainly quick.

It will be interesting to see if any models will transition to the Chevy nameplate.

I agree that the loss of Solstice would be a mistake. They must have a Miata competitor.
