For years now, I’ve been enlisted to don a Frosty the Snowman suit for the Whitby Santa Claus Parade on behalf of the dance studio our daughter goes to. It makes the kids happy (well, the 13 year old is suitably embarrassed) and believe it or not, I have a blast doing it. Over the past few years it has become increasingly colder, which certainly makes it a challenge to be Frosty. After all, that suit looks toasty, but there isn’t room for anything more than gitch and the wind howls through the fleece.
Yesterday was a frosty -12 C. For our American friends, that is just a tad over 10 F. Talk about frozen snow balls!
I don’t know about global warming, but the weather patterns have certainly been changing. It used to be the parade would occur well above freezing and if there was snow in November, it was a fluke. Last night we had snow storm #2 of the season already, which has dumped about 4 inches, with foot tall drifts! I just can’t wait to see how this winter pans out. Not!

You’re a good dad to do that for your daughter.
Boy, I guess Frosty’s voice must have gone up a few octaves at -12 C …
Don’t worry … you’re not alone. It’s been cold and snowy on the East Coast, too.
Cheers!

Hey Gary! I would have recognized you without hesitation! You look good in that outfit!
Well, re the weather. I made a conscious decision this weekend that I am going to enjoy the winter…snow, cold and all, since there isn’t a thing I can do about it! So stoke up the fire and bring on the cold…I’ll be in Cuba for January, so that will help.
Thanks for letting us all see this!

I think it makes me look deceptively slim!
And a very handsome snowman you make! Perhaps you’d like to stand out in front of my store and bring in the timid shoppers. I’d bring you out a hot toddy and a very long straw every hour. A fleece jock strap would be a good idea too!
I know what you mean about the weather. I could have skated to work today. Cheers
Fleece jockstrap!!!!
We’ll have to try that next year!
