Ther was major buzz last month that Apple and Volkswagen were working on a joint project. Images posted on the web showed a VW dashboard with a built-in touch screen sporting a very Apple-esque user interface, which many pundits chose to see as a sign that discussions provided friutful.
Well it seems discussions have come up with nothing more than rotten apples.
According to a brief in this week’s German Capital magazine, the talks, which began with a meeting between Apple CEO Steve Jobs and VW chief Martin Winterkorn back in August, were farfegnugen, or whatever the German translation for dead and buried is.
Back in the summer, VW confirmed the discussions, claiming the two companies had plenty of ideas to discuss but no specific product plans.
