Following up his work with Team No Hot Wire earlier in the weekend, Will Faules scouted out the pits and paddock of Daytona to bring our readers some great behind the scenes images. He even got a few pit babes!

I was really impressed with the clever sponsorship found on the Terra Firma Racing No. 17 Porsche 997 GT3 in the Grand-Am’s GT class. The main purpose of obtaining sponsorship is to help the team but at the same time it must be of value to the sponsor as well. When advertising does work well on a race car not only is it beneficial to both team and sponsor but it’s also beneficial to future teams/sponsors as well. It’s a lot easier to convince a sponsor to come on board and in fact you can show them how well it worked for someone else as in this case.

Millenia Fine Art gallery had an awesome advertizing campaign when they unveiled their “Fine Art Car.” The No. 17 Porsche 997 GT3 was covered with larger-than-life photos of legends (Sinatra, Brigitte Bardot and Steve McQueen) by photographer Terry O’Neill. You can normally find his work in national magazines, at galleries and Sotheby auctions and now his work is in Orlando, as well as at Millenia’s galleries in Las Vegas (Planet Hollywood resort) and London.

As far as plublicity is concerned, this car won first place in my book.
