As other activities wind down for the season, we are about to begin our kart racing season. For our newest racer, affectionately known as The Dude, that means some new safety equipment of his own was in order.
His new lid, a G-Force Force 1 came to us via Overdrive Auto in Whitby. The proprietor of this cool performance shop is a friendly guy named Gord Docherty who went out out of his way to make sure we got what we needed. We chose a basic white finish, so that down the road the painter will have an easier time prepping the lid. The Dude has plans to make sure that his bucket is cooler than his big sisters’.
You can find Overdrive at 701 Brock St N here in Whitby or call them at 905-666-4774

Coming from a family of racers I can say some of my fondest memories were those spent with our children at the tracks both carts and cars. Little did I know that the time spent on the carts would be one of the best investments with respect to racing I ever made. Not only was it a good racing investment from the cash standpoint but it was the best investment into spending quality time with our children as well. Little did I know that we would end up honing our skills and training on carts long after we had a full-blown racing team. I am not sure who learned more… the kids or the parents.
One of the most basic indeed. Better be safe than sorry.
