What a turd!
Obviously young Frankie has no clue of those who have preceded him. May he have the good fortune to podium at Sebring or to win at Datyona when he’s 70 or even to pilot a Trans Am car to a top 5 in the rain at 80!
Or perhaps the young B-lister thinks his accomplishments are more meaningful.
Ah to be young and foolish again!

What a dip-stick.
Oh come on….don’t you think a mid pack Star Mazda driver is better than all those old guys?
The truth is when I began reading the article my first thoughts were, “the general public” has no idea how sincere a world class athlete “must” believe in themselves if they are going to achieve true sports stardom/accomplishments. It’s imperative that the athletes subconscious “believe” they are the greatest for without that faith in one’s self they could never overcome doubt or any other mental obstacles. When I first began training and hanging out with world class athletes I was literally disgusted with how conceited they were. But it didn’t take long for me to realize that self confidence and desire to be the best was necessary and to achieve world class ability takes world class confidence or else there is no way to achieve that ability. “period.” And then yes, I too was one of those obnoxious voices. On the other hand I learned to tone it down in public. (most of the time.) It truly becomes a way of life.
Smart athletes are a lot more subtle (but not all of the time) since it’s a learning curve. A rookie must begin teaching his subconscious that “HE IS THE BEST THERE IS AND CAN NOT BE BEAT.” On the other hand, it’s impossible to lie to the subconscious part of the brain because it’s knows better. It becomes a double-edged sword the athlete must be willing to walk and in doing so hopefully he or she will overcome the subconscious.
He hasn’t proven to be a very good driver at all and I would love anyone to show me anything major he has won. I would love to see him do a few lead follow laps behind a few old timers. Usually when we (us old timers) hear someone talking smack like this, we just wait until we are out on the track to watch them “accidentally” get punted. ON THE OTHER HAND… When he said, “I want to race Michael Schumacher” my cola shot out thru my nose.
I’ll hold that kid while Paul Newman smacks him! What a weasel!
Yeah, sure Muniz, tell it to Dickie Smothers.
