Maybe he was mentally recreating what could have been at the Brazilian Grand Prix where he lost the F-1 championship to Kimi Raikkonen, but it appears Lewis Hamilton has lost another race, this one to French gendarmes.
Hamilton has been banned from driving for a month after being caught speeding on a French highway. The British driver was at the wheel of a Mercedes when he was clocked at 120mph near the northern town of Laon this past Sunday.
Police pulled him over, and turned him into French toast with an $ 800+ fine and confiscation of his car.
A spokesman for his F-1 team said: “McLaren was made aware that Lewis was stopped for speeding in France whilst driving in a private capacity. (Somehow when you use the word “whilst” it makes it seem ok.)
“We understand he has received a mandatory fine and suspension from driving in France for one month.”
The Mc Laren spokesman stressed that the incident would not affect Hamilton’s F-1 driving career.

Can’t drive in France for a month huh? I bet that will really put a cramp in the young Brit’s style!
For the cop, it means he got the best work story of his career!
I think it would be so hard for a race car driver to go the speed limit everyday. It is hard enough for me, an average person!
That won’t stop him from driving if there is a race in France. For that matter $800 is a pretty good deal.
Must be difficult to slow down if your day job is to drive as fast as you can! I’m sure the $800 is pocket change.
